#1 - First Things First
Welcome to the Lack to Legacy Blog! In this first post, we have to level set and make sure that we’re all on the same page. The Bible will be the foundation for everything we do. In Matthew 6:33, instead of worrying about what we will eat and drink and how we’re going to be clothed, we learn to seek first the Kingdom of God and all of its righteousness, and all these things will be added unto us. The things we have concerns about will be added to our lives, if we seek God, His will, and His ways.
We believe that God wants us as His people to learn His ways for our finances. This world needs God’s people to deliver His influence into every aspect of society. To do that most effectively, financial support is needed. So it’s our job to help you obtain financial freedom so that you can have the flexibility to expand the Kingdom of God throughout this world. In order to go from lack (not enough) into legacy (more than enough), the number one thing that we need to know is that we must be able to embrace a Kingdom wealth mindset. One of the primary keys to having a kingdom wealth mindset is that you must realize that YOU ARE BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING. Yes you’re going to learn financial principles to help you personally, but ultimately we’ve been called to help those in need, not just in word, but also in deed.
Second, You can't go into talking about financial topics and complicated things (investment tools, insurance, tax strategies) relating to your money if you don't have a Kingdom wealth mindset. So we have got to get a Kingdom mindset, we have to get Kingdom thinking on the inside of our hearts. In doing so, we’ll realize how and why we are truly blessed to be a blessing. You’ll often hear us talk about being conduits for blessings. So blessings should come through us to get to those in need. And if that blessing can't go through us, I can guarantee that it's won't come to us in the first place.
In having a Kingdom wealth mindset, we have to understand that we must take authority and take dominion over our finances. God has given us delegated authority, dominion and power so that we would not controlled by our money or financial circumstances. Along with that, please know that we do not have to be slaves to check to check living. Why? Because that's not the life for a believer!
The third thing we want to highlight is that we need revelation and application of God’s word in our lives. A revelation is simply a newfound comprehension of biblical truths. It means that we “get it now” in a way that we haven’t in the past. We often get revelation of God’s Word, but we need to make sure that we have the application (i.e. - put into practice what we learn). Revelation without application is simply a missed opportunity. That said, I don’t want any podcast listener or reader to get a revelation (where a change to occurs in your thinking) without applying that new understanding in your daily lives.
Without applied revelation of what we read in the Word or what we learn from messages we hear, we find ourselves stuck in an endless cycle of financial struggles. In other words, you find yourself going back to the basics, back to the starting point all the time. But that’s going to change today! We want you to get off the starter's block. We want you to get up and to go racing towards the destiny and the greatness that God has for you. And we don't want your money to continue to be a stumbling block for you in your life. Praise God!
Next, remember that you have the power to get wealth! God has given us that power to get wealth. But again, you’ve been empowered and you’ve got the revelation, but what are we doing with it if you don't have the application? If you don't have the implementation, then it's like the knowledge is just sitting there.
The last key point is that we need to recognize the power of a generational mindset. When you get a Kingdom wealth mindset, you will begin to think about those generations well beyond where you are right now. And you'll be able to take actions today that will help you to get your children’s children on track financially. That’s legacy thinking.
Remember that your new financial life begins with the Kingdom wealth mindset. Take time to think about who you can help with a better financial picture. I pray that you would stay connected to God’s Word and ask Him to help you see what changes you need to make with your mindset. Make sure to keep up to date with the podcast and blogs to continue to feed your faith!
